Organize Your Camping Recipes and Meal Plan

Before your camping trip, it is important to organize a good set of camping recipes. Once you have a few easy meal plans put together, you can use them each time you go camping. You should make a list of your camping food and supplies.

Camping recipes will save you time and be a big hit with your camping group time and time again.  Camping recipes can be as simple or as complicating as you want.

In our busy world, trying to come up with a food plan for a week or weekend of camping can be simple with a few basic camping recipes.

Easy Meats to Prepare

For simple camping recipes, start with your meat. What is the main type of meat for each meal?  Plan it out, perhaps even writing it down by listing each day and each meal. Remember, you probably won’t have a grocery store nearby so it is good to list out exactly what you will be cooking. Some meats that are easy to pack and can be grilled with minimal effort include hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, steak, pork tenderloin and chicken breasts.

Camping Recipes for Potatoes/Vegetables

Camping Recipes What type of potato recipe would work well with your meat? We have a family time camping recipe that is a great way to make potatoes and vegetables over the campfire. This recipe saves you space on your grill and is easy to clean up – just toss the foil you cooked it in.

Keep Salads, Fruits and Dessert Simple

A quick camping recipe for salad would be a tossed green salad with a simple dressing. Fresh cucumbers with Ranch dressing go well with just about anything. How about fresh fruit topped with whipped cream? If you really want to spoil your family, whip up potato salad at home. Potato salad goes well with any type of meat you prepare.

For dessert, we have a nice square pie cooker camping recipe to use over the campfire to make a delicious pie. The ingredients for the square pie cooker include pie filling, bread, sugar and butter. Actually you can make almost anything between two slices of bread in the square pie cooker. Another easy dessert is the classic s’more – it is easy to make and it keeps the kids busy roasting marshmallows. S’mores is simply chocolate bars and roasted marshmallows between two graham crackers.

A Great Campfire is Key

Camping RecipesThe key to any camping recipe is a good campfire – the ambiance and wonderful aroma just enhances the flavor of whatever you are cooking! One relative of ours fried up venison over an open fire seasoned with just a hint of whatever spices each of us had on hand and it was unbelievably delicious. Our kids still talk about Uncle Brian’s venison over the campfire!  Now that’s an easy camping recipe!
